2. System conguration

1.Inserttheguidepinorxingscrewoftheexiblefocusmodule<FM-12>into
theguideholeorxingscrewhole.Makecertainthegearonthefocusringof
thelensbodyengagestheoneontheexiblefocusmodule.
2.Loosen thetwo fastening knobs of the flexible focus controller
FFC-15
,
mountthemonthepanhandle,andtightentheknobs.
3.Makesure thefocusringonthelensbodyrotatesby rotatingthegripofthe
exiblefocuscontroller.
NOTE
Whenoperatingthelensusingtheexiblefocusmodule,removethezoom
lever.Besuretokeepitinasafeplacesoasnottolooseit.

1.Loosenthetwofasteningknobsontheclamper,mounttheclamperonthepan
handle,andtighentheknobs.
2.Engage the rose jointofthe zoom demand <ZSD-15MII> and that of the
clamper,andthentighenthemwiththeclampermountingknob.
3.Connect the connector of the thezoom demand to the remoteconnector on
the lens body. Be sure to fit the positioning pin properly when plugging the
connectorin.

Rightrotation:Tominimumobjectdistance

Set the zoom operation change-over knob at the bottomof the lens drive
unittothe<SERVO>position.Thissettingoperationcanbeperformedmore
smoothlyiftheknobismovedwhilerotatingthezoomringslightly.

Tocontrolthezoomingspeed,usetherockerseesawontheservozoomgrip.
Thezoomingspeedchangesaccordingtohowdeepyoupresstheseesaw.
Thedeeperyoupresstheseesaw,thefasterthezoomingspeedbecomes.
2. Applied operations
RETswitchandVTRswitch
OneRET switch and one VTR switch are installed on the zoom demand.
These switches are equivalent to those on the lens drive unit. While RET
switchishelddown,onairpicture/beingrecordedpicturecanbeseeninthe
viewnderthroughcameracontrolsystemwhenmulticamerasareconnected
toitssystem.
PressVTRswitchtoexecutetheoperationofVTR.

HANDLINGTHEPRODUCT
WARNING
1. Donotgetthisproductwetorallowliquidinside.Ifwatergetsinside,stopusingtheproductimmediately.Otherwise
itmaycauseareorelectricshocks.
2.Besuretoholdtheconnectorwhendisconnectingthecable.Pullingonthecablemayseverordamageitandpose
ariskofareorelectricshocksfromashortcircuit.
3. Donotdamage,destroyormodifythecable.Donotplaceheavyobjectsonit,steponit,forciblybendorbundle
thepowercable.Powermayleakfromadamagedcable,resultinginareorelectricshocks.

1. Becarefulnottodroptheproductwhencarryingit.Droppingtheproductmaycauseinjury.
2.Ensurethatallmountingsaresecurelytightened.Ifamountingbecomesloose,partsmayfalloandcauseinjury.
3.Inspect mountings regularly(aboutevery sixmonthsto one year) to ensurethey are securelytightened. If a
mountingbecomesloose,partsmayfalloandcauseinjury.
NOTE
1. Do not expose the product to strong impact. Striking or dropping the product may cause the malfunction of the
product.
2. Thisproductisnotwaterproof.Takemeasurestoavoiddirectcontactwithrain,snow,ormoisture.Otherwiseitmay
causethemalfuctionoftheproduct.
3. In dusty environments, cover the product when attaching or removing the product. If dust enters inside, it may
causethemalfunctionoftheproduct.
4. Beforeuseinparticularenvironments,suchasplaceswherechemicalproductsareused,contactyourCanonsales

MAINTENANCEANDINSPECTION

product.Donotusebenzene,thinner,orotherammablesubstancestocleanthisproduct.Thismaycausereorelectric
shock.
NOTE
Routineinspectionaboutonceayearisrecommended,dependingon theconditionsandenvironmentofuse.Request
overhaul,ifneeded.
STORAGE
NOTE
Immediatelywipeoanymoistureonthelensfrommistyorfoggyenvironments,usingadrycloth.Sealthelensin
aplasticbagwithadesiccant(preferablynew)topreventmoistureinside.Otherwiseitmaycausethemoldorthe
malfunctionoftheproduct.
TOTHECUSTOMER
1. Canonshallbearnoresponsibilityfordamageresultingfromimproperoperationofthisproductbythecustomer.
