Welcome tto the Ca ® S50c Smartphone
The S50c 4G smar r ctphone is designed for the outdoo s, with features to cope with hallenging
environments. It’s certified to the highest industry standard for ruggedness, MIL SPEC 810G and IP67,
so it’s dustproof and water-resistant up to 3ft for 30 minutes. The screen can even be used with wet
fingers or gloves. It has excellent scratch-resistant Gorilla
®
Glass and can withstand being dropped
from a height of 4ft. It also has a quad core (1.2Ghz) processor running the latest version of Android™
Lollipop with access to Google Play™ meaning there is no compromise between performance and
protection. Complementing the durable design features, the S50c boasts performance enhancing
applications enabling you to enjoy web browsing, messaging, music and more with its high capacity
bat tery and expandable memory of up to 64GB.

Getting Started with Your Mobile Phone
Installing a Memory Card
1. Loosen the captive security screw using a coin or flat screwdriver.
2. Open the microSD/SIM card slot cover.
3. Insert the microSD card as shown.
Note:
•
Insert the microSD c ard with the gold contacts facing down, push the memory card all the way until
you
hear a click/locking sound.
•
To remove the microSD card, press against the edge of the memory card and release it.
•
Do not force the microSD card as this could damage the memory card or slot.
•
Once you have the microSD card in place, ensure the microSD/SIM card slot cover is closed completely to keep
your phone protected from dust and water. For instructions see Securing memory/SIM card cover on page 5, after
installing SIM card.

Important Information About the Battery
If the battery has not been used for a long period of time, you may not be able to power on your mobile
phone immediately af cter you begin harging the battery. Allow the bat ctery to harge for a few minutes
with the phone powered of t - cf before a tempting to power on the phone. The on screen harge animation
may not be displayed during this period.
The time required to charge the battery depends on the environmental temperature and the age of the
bat y.ter

Af S Ster you sign in, or when you power on the phone, the Home creen opens. The Home creen is your
star ting point to access all the features on your phone. This displays application icons, widgets,

Notification Panel
Your mobile phone will notify you when you receive a new message or there is an event. incoming
The notification panel also informs you about alarms and set —tings for example, when an alarm is
act vated. Open the notification panel to see the wireless network operator or to view a message, i
reminder, or event notification.
Opening the Notification Panel
1. When a new notification icon appear rs on the notification ba , touch the notification bar, and then
drag down to open the notification panel.
2. Touch a notification to open the related application.
Closing the Notification Panel

There must be enough space for the icon to fit on the current Home screen panel.

A widget lets you preview or use an application. You can place widgets on your Home screen as icons
or preview windows. Several widgets are installed on your phone by default. More widgets can be
downloaded on Google Play. To add a widget to one of the screens:
