forward to serving you in the future. As with all Goodway products, you can be assured that
the nest quality components and workmanship have gone into this machine.
Please take a few minutes to read the following Operang and Maintenance Instrucons. By
carefully following the instrucons, you will obtain years of trouble free service from this
product. Please pay parcular aenon to the safety instrucons and exercise cauon when
using this machine.

GENERAL
The DV-2-MET / DV- -MET is an industrial grade vacuum cleaner for the recovery of dry chips AV
and coolant. Its collecon tank is easily detached from the rest of the unit making disposal of
collected material easy.
The unit consists of the following components:
Vacuum head/motor assembly with cord and on/o switches (DV-2-MET Model) or
Vacuum head with pneumac hose connecon and valve (DV- -MET Model). AV
Filter canister with nylon lter on dolly.
Debris collecon tank with chip collecon basket.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER
WARNING To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or injury: –
Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Disconnect unit from power when not in use or
before servicing.
WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. – –
Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommend accessories and
spare parts.
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close aenon is necessary when used by or near
children.
Do not use with a damaged cord, plug or air hose. If unit is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, le outdoors, or dropped into water, contact Goodway
Technologies Corporaon’s Customer Service at (800) 370-2855.
Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated
surfaces.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of
dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airow.

Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving
parts.
Turn o all controls before unplugging.
Use extra careful when cleaning stairs.
Do not use to pick up ammable or combusble liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas
where they may be present.
Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instrucons.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarees, matches, or hot
ashes.
Do not use without dust bag and/or lters in place.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
For Electric Powered Vacuums:
This vacuum must be grounded. If it should malfuncon or break down, grounding provides a
path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug
must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING Improper connecon of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of –
electric shock. Check with a qualied electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to
whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance –
if it will not t the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualied electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding aachment plug that
looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A below. A temporary adaptor that looks like the
adaptor illustrated in sketches B and C may be used to connect this plug to a two pole
receptacle as shown in sketch B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary
adaptor should be used only unl a properly grounded outlet (sketch A) can be installed by a
qualied electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug or the like extending from the adaptor
must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.
Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.
NOTE: In Canada, the use of an adaptor is not permied by the Canadian Electrical Code.
For Pneumac Powered Vacuums:
Stac electricity can be generated when using air operated equipment. If the equipment and
accessories are not properly grounded, arcing can occur as stac electricity is dissipated. If
ungrounded equipment is operated near explosive materials or vapors, re or explosion may
result.
FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY, GROUNDED AIR LINES AND VACUUM HOSES MUST BE
USED WITH THIS EQUIPMENT. CONSULT THE GOODWAY CATALOG FOR
GROUNDED VACUUM HOSES AND ACCESSORIES.
Alternately a grounding wire can be connected to the pipe near the connecon for the air hose.
