•  Always let the appliance cool down before you 
clean or move it.

Power-failure memory function
This appliance features a power-failure memory 
function that save the status prior to the power loss.
•  If a power outage occurs during cooking and 
power is restored within 2 hours, the cooking time 
countdown will resume from its previous point.
•  If a power outage occurs while the product is in 
preset mode and power is restored within 2 hours, 
the preset time countdown will resume from its 
previous point.
•  If power is not restored within 2 hours, the 
appliance may not resume its previous work 
process.

1 Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the 
Rice cooker and save it for future reference.
Danger
•  The appliance must not be immersed.
Warning
•  This appliance is not intended for use by persons 
(including children) with reduced physical sensory 
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience 
and knowledge, unless they have been given 
supervision or instruction concerning use of the 
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•  Children should be supervised to ensure that they 
do not play with the appliance.
•  This appliance should be positioned in a stable 
situation with the handles (if any) positioned to 
avoid spillage of the hot liquids.
•  This appliance is intended to be used in household 
and similar applications such as:
•  Sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and other 
working environments; 
•  Farm houses; 
•  By clients in hotels, motels and other residential 
type environments;
•  Bed and breakfast type environments.
•  If the power cord set is damaged, it must 
be replaced by a cord set available from the

user manual, use a soft damp cloth to clean the 
surfaces in contact with food and make sure 
to remove all the food residues stuck to the 
appliance.
•  Don’t place the power cord under the appliance 
when in use.

•  CAUTION: Surface of the heating element is subject 
to residual heat after use.
•  Never use any accessories or parts from other 
manufacturers or that Philips does not specically 
recommend. If you use such accessories or parts, 
your guarantee becomes invalid.
•  Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures, 
nor place it on a working or still hot stove or 
cooker.
•  Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
•  Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, and 
level surface.
•  Always put the inner pot in the appliance before 
you put the plug in the power outlet and switch 
it on.
•  Do not place the inner pot directly over an open 
re to cook rice.
•  Do not use the inner pot if it is deformed.
•  The accessible surfaces may become hot when the 
appliance is operating. Take extra caution when 
touching the appliance.
•  Beware of hot steam coming out of the steam vent 
during cooking or out of the appliance when you 
open the lid. Keep hands and face away from the 
appliance to avoid the steam.
•  Do not lift and move the appliance while it is 
operating.

4  Press Start to start the cooking process.

automatically.

Baking cake
1  Whisk the ingredients for cake well.
2  Coat the inner pot with some butter or cooking 
oil, and then pour the ingredients into it.
3  Follow the steps in "Preparations before 
cooking". 
4  Press Choose menu button to select Cake 
function.
5  Press Start to start the cooking process.
6  When the cooking is nished, you will hear 6 
beeps and the selected cooking function light 
will be o. 
 » The keep-warm indicator lights up.
7  Open the lid and carefully take out the inner 
pot to cool down.
8  After the inner pot is cool down, put a plate 
or cake rack on top of the pot, and then ip 
over to take the cake out.
Steam
1  Add some water into the inner pot. 
2  Put the steam basket into the inner pot.
3  Place foods on a food plate or directly on the 
steaming basket.
4  Press Choose menu button to select the Steam 
 function.
 » The indicator of chosen cooking function 
blinks.
 » The default cooking timer displays on the 
screen.
Notes
•  You can press the Cooking time button 
to adjust the time, the cooking time after 
setting blinks on the screen.
5  Press Start to start the cooking process.

Preset time for delayed 
cooking
Notes
•  The preset function is not available for Cake 
 and Keep warm. The preset time is up to 
24 hours.
•  The preset timer should be longer than 
cooking time.
•  If you want to enjoy delicious rice after 8 
hours, set the preset time to 8 hours.
1  Choose a function you need, press the 
Cooking time booking button to set the 
preset time.

5  Using your rice cooker
Before rst use
1  Take out all the accessories from the inner pot. 
Remove the packaging material of the inner pot.
2  Before rst use, boil water and clean the Rice 
cooker.
3  Clean the parts of the Rice cooker thoroughly 
before using it for the rst time (see chapter 
“Cleaning and Maintenance”).
Notes
•  Make sure all parts are completely dry before 
you start using the Rice cooker.
•  Make sure the outside of the inner pot is dry 
and clean, and that there is no foreign residue 
on the heating element.
Preparations before cooking
Warning
•  Make sure the detachable inner lid and the 
steam valve are correctly installed.
Notes
•  Make sure that the amount of food or liquid you 
add to the inner pot is within the range of the 
water level indication.
•  For rice cooking, follow the water level indications 
on the inside of the inner pot. You can adjust the 
water level for dierent types of rice and your 
own preference. Do not exceed the quantities 
indicated on the inside of the inner pot.
•  After the cooking process starts, you can tap 
Start/Cancel to cancel the cooking ,the rice 
cooker will go to standby mode. 
Perform the following preparations before cooking 
with the rice cooker:
1  Press the lid release button to open the rice 
cooker.
2  Take out the inner pot.
3  Put the washed food into the innper pot, and 
wipe o water outside of the inner pot with a soft 
clean cloth, put it back into the appliance.
4  Close the lid.
5  Put the plug in the power socket.

Notes
•  Make sure the outside of the inner pot is dry 
and clean, and that there is no foreign residue 
on the heating element.
•  Make sure the inner pot is in proper contact 
with the heating element.
Cooking rice
1  Follow the steps in "Preparations before 
cooking".
2  Press Choose menu button to select Fast cook  , 
White rice   or Sticky rice  .
 » The indicator of chosen cooking function 
blinks.
 » The default cooking timer displays on the 
screen.
3  Press Start to start the cooking process.
4  When the cooking is nished, you will hear 6 
beeps and the selected cooking function light 
will be o. 
5  The rice cooker will be in keep warm mode 
automatically.
 » The keep-warm indicator lights up.
Notes
•  Press Start/Cancel to terminate the current 
cooking process.
•  The level marked inside the inner pot is just 
an indication; you can always adjust the water 
level for dierent types of rice and your own 
preference.
•  Besides following the water level indications, 
you may also add rice and water at 1:(1.3-1.6) 
ratio for rice cooking
•  To prevent the rice from clumping, loosen the 
rice within 30 minutes.
•  Do not exceed the volume indicated nor 
exceed the maximum water level indicated in 
the inner pot, as this may cause the rice cooker 
to overow and cause potential hazard.
Congee and soup
1  Put all ingredients into the innper pot.
2  Follow the steps in "Preparations before 
cooking". 
3  Press Choose menu button to select the Congee 
 or Soup   function.
.
2  Press the Cooking time booking button to adjust 
the time.
 » With each press, the time increases by 10 
minutes. Long press the button to quickly 
adjust the time by 1 hour.
3  Press Start to start the cooking process.
 » The rice cooker starts countdown until the 
cooking process is nished.
6  Cleaning and Maintenance
Notes
•  Unplug the Rice cooker before starting to clean it.
•  Wait until the appliance has cooled down 
suciently before cleaning.
Inner lid
•  Remove the inner lid that can be detached 
from the top lid and clean it.
•  Soak the inner lid in warm water and wash it 
with a sponge. 
•  Remove all the food residues stuck to the 
appliance.
•  Reattach the inner lid to the top lid.
Steam valve
•  Remove the inner lid.
•  Remove the steam valve from the top lid.
•  Rinse the steam valve to remove any food 
residues. Once it has been cleaned, reattach the 
the steam valve to the top lid.
Interior
Top lid and inside of the appliance:
•  Wipe with wrung out cloth.
•  Remove all the food residues stuck to the 
appliance.
Heating element:
•  Wipe with wrung out cloth.
•  Remove all the food residues.
Exterior
•  Wipe with a cloth damped with soap water.
•  Only use soft and dry cloth to wipe the control 
panel.
•  Make sure to remove all the food residues.
Accessories
Rice scoop, steaming basket and inner pot.
•  Soak in hot water and clean with sponge.
7 Recycling
Do not throw away the product with the normal 
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in 
at an ocial collection point for recycling. By doing 
this, you help to preserve the environment.
Follow your country's rules for the separate collection 
of electrical and electronic products. Correct disposal 
helps prevent negative consequences for the 
environment and human health.
8  Warranty and support
