Installation Procedure

1. Remove XE04-2066 from its packaging. XE04-2066 supports Intel Socket LGA2011 (Socket R) square and narrow Independent Loading Mechanisms (ILM). Before installing the heat sink, please check what

ILM is equipped on the motherboard.

2. By default, the square ILM mounting bracket is pre-attached on the bottom of the heat sink. If the motherboard is equipped with narrow ILM, follow the instruction in Figure 1 to replace the default square ILM

mounting bracket with the narrow ILM mounting bracket.

3. Remove the protection cover from thermal interface material (TIM). The required amount has already been pre-applied on the bottom of the heat sink. Inspect pre-applied TIM for any damage.

4. Place the heat sink directly on top of the CPU (Figure 2) so that the four heat sink mounting screws are aligned with and seated on the four heat sink mounting studs on the ILM. The heat sink must be

properly oriented to the system cooling air flow direction. Please note that the heat sink cooling fan should not be attached to the heat sink body when tightening the four heat sink mounting screws.

5. Use a screwdriver with Philips #2 screw head and adjust the screwdriver torque setting to 5.0 kgf-cm (4.3 lbf-in). Before turning on the screwdriver, make sure that the screwdriver head is fully engaged in the

cross groove on the heat sink mounting screw head. Keep heat sink mounting screw vertical during installations.

6. Tighten the two diagonal heat sink mounting screws i.e. the #1 and #2 screws (Figure 3) 1 to 2 turns until they are just snug. Do not fully tighten! Then do the same with the remaining two diagonal heat sink

mounting screws.

7. Follow the cross installation pattern on all four heat sink mounting screws to ensure that the bottom of the heat sink is properly seated on the CPU and to prevent the heat sink from tilting. Finish by fully

tightening all the four heat sink mounting screws.

8. Install the heat sink cooling fan and holder assembly on the heat sink body and then tighten the single locking screw on top of the fan holder (Figure 4).

9. Connect XE04-2066 cooling fan connector to the fan header labeled for CPU on the motherboard.

c) Product is not disassembled, modified, or fixed. Components not disassembled or replaced.

d) Warranty mark/stickers are not removed or broken.

Loss or damages resulted from conditions other than ones listed above are not covered under warranty.

2. Under warranty, SilverStone Technology’s maximum liability is limited to the current market value for the

product (depreciated value, excluding shipping, handling, and other fees). SilverStone Technology is not

responsible for other damages or loss associated with the use of product.

3. Under warranty, SilverStone Technology is obligated to repair or replace its defective products. Under no

circumstances will SilverStone Technology be liable for damages in connection with the sale, purchase,

or use including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits, loss of use of the product or

incidental or consequential damage whether or not foreseeable and whether or not based on breach of

warranty, contract or negligence, even if SilverStone Technology has been advised of the possibility of

such damages.

4. Warranty covers only the original purchaser through authorized SilverStone distributors and resellers and

is not transferable to a second hand purchaser.

5. You must provide sales receipt or invoice with clear indication of purchase date to determine warranty

eligibility.

6. If a problem develops during the warranty period, please contact your retailer/reseller/SilverStone

authorized distributors or SilverStone

(ii) You shall bear the cost of shipping (or otherwise transporting) the product to SilverStone authorized

issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) number from SilverStone. Updated warranty
