Indevelopingextremelypowerfulampliers,itisessentialtokeepthingscoolsoFUSIONdevelopedaheatsink
thathasaheatdissipationabilitylikeneverbefore.Thiswasnotaneasytaskbutnonethelessitwasachieved,
anotherimportantfactorisecientlytransferringtheheatfromthesemi-conductorstotheheatsink,conven-
tionaldesignsuseawhitepasteastheinterfacebetweenthesedevicesandtheheatsink,thisisnotaperfect
solutionwhencompletesurfacecouplingisrequired.SoallMarineAmplierscomeequippedwithacompositeheat
transferringtape.Coreheatinsemi-conductorscausesdistortionandpoorcomponentperformancecharacteris-
tics.TestinghasshownamassivereductionincoreheathasbeenachievedbyusingtheFUTRANZheattransfer-
ringtechnology.Insimpliedtermsthismeansexcellentthermalstabilityandmaximumcomponentreliability.

2 Crossover Selector:
Settheappropriatemodeofoperation.The3positionsavailableareOFF,LPandHP.Seepoints3and4below.
3 Low Pass:
Setthecrossoverswitch2toLPwhenasubwooferisconnected.Ensurethecrossoverfrequencyissetat
100Hzorbelow,thisfeatureisdesignedtolterallmidtohighfrequenciesthatonlyFULLRANGEspeakers
shouldproduce.NOTE:Failuretodosocouldresultinspeakerdamage.
4 High Pass:
Setthecrossoverswitch2toHPandturnthiscontrolto65Hzorabovewhenusingspeakerssmallerthan6
x6”,thisfeatureisdesignedtolteralllowbassfrequenciesthatonlySUBWOOFERSshouldproduce.NOTE:
Failuretodosocouldresultinspeakerdamage.
5 Bass Boost:
Thisisavariablecontroltoincreasethebassboostat45Hzfrom0-+18dBofgain,adjusttosuit.
6 Subsonic Filter:
ThisisavariablecontrolltersoutallSubBassFrequenciesbelowthesetpointat18dB/octave.
7 Level:
Thisallowsleveladjustmentoftheinputsignal.Usethiscontroltocorrectlymatchtheheadunittothe
amplier.Tosetthiscontrolcorrectly,turntheamplierleveltoMINandtheheadunitto3/4volume,with
theBASSandTREBLEonzero,thenslowlyturnupthisamplierlevelcontroltowardstheMAXendofthe
control.NOTE:Ifthesoundbecomesdistorted,turnthiscontroldown.
8 Front RCA Input:
ConnecttheseRCAconnectorstothefrontLOWLEVELoutputconnectionfromtheheadunit.
9 Rear RCA Input:
ConnecttheseRCAconnectorstotherearLOWLEVELoutputconnectionfromtheheadunit.
10 RCA Output:
UsetheseRCAOutputconnectorstoconnecttoasecondaryamplier.ThisoutputisaSUMMEDOUTPUTcon-
nectionderivedfromthefrontRCAinputandtherearRCAinputconnectors.
11 Ground Connection:
Connectdirectlytosuitablegroundpointviaa4gaugepowercable.NOTE:Thisistobetherstwiretocon-
nectwhenwiringupampliers.Damagecouldresultofthisisnotdone.
12 +12V Connection:
Thismustbeconnectedtothebatterypositive(+)terminalviaa4gaugepowercableandwithaninlinefuse
orcircuitbreakeratthebatteryend.NOTE:Thisistobethelastwiretoconnectupduringinstallationas
damagecouldresult.
13 Remote Connection:
Thisinputisforturningtheamplieronando.Thisrequiresaswitchedpositive(+12V)topower‘ON’the
amplier,thiscanbefoundontherearoftheheadunitintheformofanelectricantennaoutput,oraremote
onoutput.IfnotavailableyoucanwiretotheACCpositiononthekey.

Pleaseensurethecorrecttypeoffuseistted,asspeciedinthismanual.PLEASENOTE:theFM-504has2x
25Afuses.
