1 Connect the bare copper (or green) “ground” wire
from the wallbox to the green wire on the switch
using one of the large supplied wire connectors.
2 Connect the load wire from the wallbox to the red
wire on the switch using one of the large supplied
wire connectors.
3 Connect the hot wire from the wallbox to the black
wire on the switch using one of the large supplied
wire connectors.
4 Connect the neutral wire from the wallbox to the white
wire on the switch (neutral connection required) using
one of the large supplied wire connectors.
5 Cap the blue wire coming from the switch with the
small supplied wire connector. The blue wire is not
used for single pole installations.
Note: Wire colors depicted in this install guide may not
match what is in your walls.

Disconnect all three wires* from the switch.
1 Attach the adapter to the switch using the
screws provided.
2 Tighten the mounting screws on the switch.
3 Snap on the wallplate.
Use the mounting screws provided, leaving them loose
for this step.

Install in accordance with all national and local
electrical codes.
Grounding
When no “grounding means” exist in wallbox, the
National Electrical Code (NEC®) allows a control to
be installed as a replacement if 1) a nonmetallic,
noncombustible faceplate is used with nonmetallic
attachment screws or 2) the circuit is protected by a
ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). When installing
a control according to these methods, cap or remove
green wire before screwing control into wallbox.

Important note:

The switch is ULR Listed for use with all magnetic and electronic
fluorescent ballasts.

The maximum lamp wattage is determined by the efficiency of
the transformer, with 70%–85% as typical. For actual transformer
efficiency, contact either the fixture or transformer manufacturer.
The total VA rating of the transformer(s) shall not exceed the VA
rating of the switch.

Replacing light bulbs using FASS
Pull the FASS out on the switch to remove power at
the light socket.

The Claro Smart Switch can be controlled from a smartphone when
used with the Lutron Smart Hub (formerly Smart Bridge). All devices
must be within 30 ft (9 m) from the Lutron Smart Hub.

1 Raccordez le fil de «mise à la terre» en cuivre dénudé
(ou vert) du boîtier d’encastrement au fil vert de
l’interrupteur à l’aide de l’un des gros connecteurs de
fil fournis.
2 Connectez le fil de charge du boîtier d’encastrement
au fil rouge de l’interrupteur à l’aide de l’un des gros
connecteurs de fils fournis.
3 Connectez le fil conducteur du boîtier d’encastrement
au fil noir de l’interrupteur à l’aide de l’un des gros
connecteurs de fils fournis.
4 Connectez le fil neutre du boîtier d’encastrement au
fil blanc de l’interrupteur (connexion neutre requise) à
l’aide de l’un des gros connecteurs de fils fournis.
5 Capuchonnez le fil bleu provenant de l’interrupteur avec
le petit connecteur de fils fourni. Le fil bleu n’est pas
utilisé pour les installations unipolaires.

Procédez à l’installation conformément à tous les

Mise à la terre
Lorsqu’aucun « moyen de mise à la terre » n’est
présent dans le boîtier mural, le Code électrique
national (NEC®, National Electrical Code) autorise
l’installation d’une commande en remplacement si
1) une plaque frontale non métallique et non
combustible est utilisée avec des vis de fixation
non métalliques ou 2) le circuit est protégé par
un disjoncteur de fuite à la terre (DDFT). Lors de
l’installation d’une commande selon ces méthodes,
protégez ou retirez le filvert avant de visser la
commande dans le boîtier mural.
