WARNING!

• Do not dispose of batteries in a ﬁre; they may explode.

• Do not open or mutilate the battery. Chemicals released are harmful to the skin or eyes and may be toxic. Follow ﬁrst-

aid procedures for chemical burns in the event of exposure. Use appropriate protective clothing when handling a leaking

battery.

• A battery can present a risk of high current in the event of a short circuit. High discharge can lead to severe burns and/

or the risk of ﬁre. Observe the following precautions when working around high-capacity storage batteries: 1) remove

watches, rings or other metal objects that might come in contact with battery terminals; 2) use tools with insulated

handles; 3) do not lay tools or metal parts on top of the battery or near the terminals.

Battery Replacement

Important! Conﬁrm the unit has been properly shut down from the LCD panel on the front of the unit before

performing the battery replacement procedure.

Unscrew and remove the manual bypass protection plate (the UPS will automatically go to static bypass).

Turn the manual bypass switch from NORMAL position to BYPASS position—the load is now powered through the manual

bypass.

Turn OFF the input breaker and wait 5 minutes for the DC bus discharge.

Access the front panel by unscrewing the two screws located on the front door and open the door.

Turn OFF the Bypass breaker.

On the front panel, pull back the ﬂap covering the internal battery fuse holders. Next, pull the fuse holders down to

disconnect from the fuse block (for more information, refer to the Owner’s Manual.)

Battery Replacement

The battery compartment is located near the bottom of the unit. Remove the hex nuts securing the battery brackets, then

remove the brackets.

Disconnect the main battery cables on the right ( - - ) and left (+ +) as shown in the Figure 1-1. Then disconnect the

cables connecting the battery cartridges as shown in Figure 1-2. A complete diagram of all connections between battery

cartridges is shown in Figure 1-3.
