CX SERIES

Designed from the ground up for the

new CX Series, the Cambridge CXA60

and CXA80 deliver stunning analogue

amplication, combined with high quality

digital to analogue conversion. The result

is two integrated ampliers that are perfect

for today’s digital sources as well as

traditional analogue ones.

We all love to play our music from a variety

of sources which have a range of analogue

and digital outputs – from streamers, TVs

and laptops, to CD players and turntables.

By catering for a wide variety of analogue

and digital audio input types, the CXA60

and CXA80 allow all of our different music

sources to receive the same high quality

amplication.

The CXA60 and CXA80 both use a

highly-efcient Class A/B amplier design,

an audiophile grade oversize toroidal

transformer and substantial extruded heat

sinks. This allows the CXA60 to deliver

60 Watts per channel of pure power.

The CXA80 goes even further with an

ingenious dual-mono amplier design,

outputting 80 Watts per channel.

With analogue RCA and 3.5mm inputs,

coaxial and optical digital inputs, and a

high quality Wolfson DAC, these ampliers

will handle your music sources for years

to come. Adding to the impressive

specication, the CXA80 also features

an asynchronous USB Audio input and a

balanced XLR input.

You can even bring the CXA’s stunning

amplication to all of your apps and

streaming services via your smartphone,

tablet or computer. Connect wirelessly

using the optional BT100 Bluetooth

receiver to listen to popular services

such as YouTube or Spotify played

back in stunning quality through the

CXA60 and CXA80.

music from our computers, the CXA80

features a high quality asynchronous

USB Audio input, allowing it to act as

a high quality external sound card for

your computer or laptop. Featuring

asynchronous USB audio clocking,

and supporting both USB Class 1 and

USB Class 2, the CXA80 can be used

to play everything from MP3s to the

highest quality 24-bit/192kHz studio

master recordings from your computer

or laptop, all free from unwanted noise,

jitter and distortion.

Toroidal transformer

We use a highly efcient Class A/B

amplier design, a centrally mounted

audiophile grade oversize toroidal

transformer, and substantial extruded

heatsinks.

This allows the CXA80 to deliver 2 x 80

Watts RMS into 8 Ohms. Into 4 Ohms,

this increases to 2 x 120W.

The CXA60 delivers 2 x 60 Watts RMS

into 8 Ohms. Into 4 Ohms, this increases

to 2 x 90W.

Stunning stereo imaging

An ALPs lm type volume pot delivers

superb low level channel balance and

stereo imaging.

Superb separation

The internal PCB layout is optimised

for minimal left/right ‘crosstalk’ and to

maximise the quality of stereo separation.

By entirely separating the left and

right channel heat sinks, and using

symmetrical and separated circuit paths

for the two channels, we ensure that

the CXA60 and CXA80 deliver stunning

stereo separation and minimum cross-

channel interference.

Careful positioning

We mount the premium toroidal

transformer centrally, away from the

sensitive preamp circuitry to avoid any

heat disturbance.

Dual mono design (CXA80 only)

Separate transformer taps for left and

right channels, twin rectiers and separate

PSUs give dual mono operation of the left

and right power ampliers.
