Positioning
For the earliest warning, we recommend smoke alarms are
tted in all rooms where the temperature is between 4°C
(40°F) & 38°C (100°F).
WARNING: Prolonged exposure to temperatures outside
those stated above will reduce product life.
Smoke alarms should be sited at least 300mm from light
ttings & walls. Ideally as central as possible in the room.
Smoke alarms should be positioned at no more than
600mm vertically below the highest point in the room.
If positioning your smoke alarm on the wall, the top of the
detection element must be between 150mm & 300mm
below the ceiling, & at least 300mm from a wall.
Thermoptek smoke alarms are less prone to false alarms
from cooking fumes & are therefore suitable for locating
near kitchens. Like other smoke alarms, they can be
subject to nuisance alarms from steam & should not be
placed near bathrooms.
IMPORTANT: Check with local building and re
regulations for your property, to ensure compliance.
Mobile Homes & Caravans
This smoke alarm is suitable for use in mobile homes &
caravans.
Commercial & Industrial Premises
This smoke alarm is not intended for any non-residential,
commercial or industrial application, nor for any other
purpose than described above.
Alarm Smart Silence
Smoke alarms can react to cooking fumes or other non
emergency situations. Your alarm features ‘Smart Silence’
technology. In the event of a known false alarm you can
temporarily silence it by pressing the Test button. Your
alarm will automatically return to full sensitivity after 10
minutes.
NOTE: If the level of smoke reaching the alarm is very
high the alarm silence will be overridden & the alarm will
continue to sound.
DANGER: Never ignore any alarm. If an alarm is sounding,
it is warning you of a potentially hazardous situation.
Do not ignore it. Ignoring the alarm may result in injury
or death. If your smoke alarm activates & you are not
absolutely certain of the source of smoke, get everyone
out of the house immediately.
Low Battery
Replace the alarm immediately to ensure protection in
case of re. If the red LED ashes at a separate time from
the chirp, a fault is indicated. If within warranty contact
Technical Support. Otherwise replace alarm immediately.
Thermoptek Sensor Technology
Thermoptek technology provides a fast reaction to both
slow smouldering & fast aming res in a single alarm.
Constantly monitoring temperature changes, if a rate of
temperature rise is detected the sensitivity of the alarm
is increased.
Maintenance
CAUTION: Do not paint the smoke alarm.
The original English version of the manual, from which these translations were taken,
has been independently approved. In case of discrepancy with translated parts,
FireAngel Safety Technology Limited conrms that the English guide is true and correct.

Disposal
In accordance with the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU,
waste electrical products should not be disposed of
with regular household waste. The base plate should be
removed before disposal of the detector and both should
be disposed of in line with local regulations.
WARNING: Do not open the alarm. Do not burn.
Warranty
Who is covered? This warranty covers the original
purchaser of the ST-630 product only.
How long does the warranty last? This warranty remains
in force for 10 years from the date of purchase.
What does this warranty cover? This warranty covers
defects in material or workmanship.
What does this warranty not cover? This warranty
does not cover damage resulting from accidents, misuse,
disassembly, abuse or lack of reasonable care of the product;
nor does it cover events or conditions outside of FireAngel’s
control, such as Acts of God (re, severe weather etc).
